Alnitak, Algieba and Mahasim

Some of the doubles from last night's session.

All with Vixen 102 f9 and a 4mm TV Delite. Drawn at the eyepiece with pencil on paper, then inverted and applied dash of colour. There are mistakes. For example, I checked and Mahasim secondary should probably be closer to the primary. Algieba should have more energy, the sketch doesn’t quite capture it.

As above, theses are beautifully presented observations.

A joy to peruse. I'm no double star observer but enjoy reading the excitement of the hunt.

There’s a real skill to sketching doubles and you’ve nailed it. Your interpretations of Algieba are like I’m at the eyepiece, superb. 👍🏻👍🏻

All my observing records are electronic, and they may be convenient for searching

It's a good idea. I enjoy revising the same doubles and comparing the notes over time. Being able to search would be convenient. What tool/software do you use to keep the electronic records?

The SkySafari app. I use it to plan sessions and record observations.
