150/750 PDS or not PDS

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I want to upgrade from an orion 130/650 10 year scope to a 150/750 new scope.

I'm in doubt about the Skywatcher 150/750 PDS version and the non PDS version.

Besides the focuser 1/10 difference, what is the diferences between this scopes?

Thanks

The primary has been pushed up the tube a bit, so you can achieve focus with a CC and camera.

I can't remember if the secondary size has changed?

Secondary mirror size is increased.

The PDSs are fine, you do have to do some mods to get them fully AP "perfect" but can get results out of the box too. You need to decide if you're primarily going to do imaging or visual and with a budget go from there.

What mount are you going to use and what are you planning on imaging or viewing and what is your light pollution like?

i'm on a bortle 5 sky and i want to do photography but also visual. The price is a factor.

The mount is a vixen super polaris mount (green version)
