Betelgeuse Supernova Live Feed

"Bageljaws" is perhaps one of the more extreme disruptions of Beetlejuice's name and it still be recognisable. Well done!

On a less serious note, statistically, we are overdue a MilkyWay supernova.  But there is also a good chance that it will only be visible in the southern hemisphere. There is a good chance that it will happen on the "wrong" side of the Sun so that it's already a mature supernova by the time it's visible in a dark sky.

There is a lot to go wrong, due or not. What a pain in the right shoulder it would be for Betelgeuse to erupt just as it slips into spring twilight. I know, I know, it'll still be there in late summer as Orion reemerges in the dawn sky, but I think I'd rather witness the brightening phase rather than an endless fade....
