Observing log

I am not sure if this exists but I would like to have some software which I could log what I have seen and when I have seen it. Kind of like sticking a pin in a star map..

Is there anything out there that can do this?

Hi Samantha,

Have a look at AstroPlanner. As the name suggests it is focussed on planning rather than recording but it does cater for the latter.

I think you can download it for free but have to buy a licence to be able to use extra catalogues, other than that it is fully functional.

Combined with CdC V3 and the wide range of catalogues - unbeatable!!!

The help documentation is very good, and like the word processing software you'll only start with what you need.... and the "extras" kick in later.

Well worth the effort to move along the learning curve!!

Had a look at this site Roy, now downloaded the astronomical and satTrack logs to try.

I just use a note book as a journal to write down viewing conditions, what I spotted, date, etc.
