Startravel 102

I’m considering a Startravel 102 for EEA although the Evo 102 has been recommended- which would be the better option on the azi GTI

I would go for the Startravel myself as the Evostar has a 1000mm focal length which the GTi would struggle to control it with vibration and any wind etc. I've seen good results with the Startravel previously.

I agree with @bosun21, the Evostar 102 is too long for the mount and it is best sticking below F6 for EAA (a faster scope will let you use shorter exposures).

I’m also considering a Sky-Watcher EQ3 PRO Go-To Astronomy Mount & Tripod or the SW azi GTI mount and tripod - which would be the better buy - can’t go for anything else tbh due to budget

The Startravel 102 is sold in a package with the azgti so it should be fine. The mount does not cope well with longer scopes.

ST102 is a well built scope that is a perfect fit for the AZ-GTi . People will talk about the optics but imo it will work superbly for EAA.
