defringing?

Good Afternoon

....still having issues trying to get rid of the blue fringing.   I have an older version of Photoshop elements but no luck with it in this.  Is there another way I could try?

Hi Roger, is it a colour cam, if so do you use a ADC? What are you using to stack, regisax does a RGB align as it looks like you blue channel is out of alignment

Also, if the RGB alignment tool won't run, re start registax in admin mode.

Thank you….it’s an asi120mc camera….no ADC.  I did the wavelets and RGB align in Registax

The way the moon is streaked suggests the target has moved significantly across the field of view in the set of frames you've tried to stack in my view, I could be wrong. Have you tried stacking a smaller amount of images?

Also have you checked collimation of your scope? Is the image sharp when you view with an eyepiece?

I had the same issue when I first started planetary, not so long ago.

It’s not about focus or lack of adc, I put it down to a stacking issue.

When you place your alignment points, try to avoid putting them too close to the edge. If there’s too much black sky within the box, the stacking software can get a bit confused.

Would processing the video first in PIPP sort out the alignment of the planet in each frame before going to Registax for stacking.

Thank you…..Jupiter seemed quite high up to me…..but perhaps that’s the next bit of kit
