M45 attempt

56 lights at 1 minute 30sec, 30 darks, and 20 flats. Mix of 400 and 800 iso, shot with a canon t100 on a cg5 mount with svbony 80mm unguided! I know i really need to learn how to process better and i will hopefully soon! Thanks for looking and clear skies to u all!

Out of interest, what software have you used for processing?

Just Gimp

Have a go at removing the gradient. It can be done quite effectively even with GIMP.

I actually like the first image: such a beautiful purple! 😄 You can tell I'm not an astrophotographer!

SIRIL had background extraction tool and it's free, plus other tools to use coupled with GIMP that you are already using.
