Hello Dave and a warm welcome to SGl. Have you got a red light torch it will help to keep your night vision when you need to look at maps etc. Also a planisphere my help you find what constellations are up. And the book Turn Left at Orion wiil help you to find interesting objects to get you started. Also worth getting a astro mag it will show you whats about each month.

Welcome to SGL

If you have a lot of light pollution then some objects will be hard to see well so don't be too disappointed if some nebulae or galaxies look small and faint.

The Moon = always looks better before it's a full Moon)

Venus - bright "star" high in the south west after sunset

Saturn - bright "star" at the botton of Leo. Stellarium will help find this one.

Enjoy the new telescope

Cheers everyone for the warm welcome, took some nice pictures of the moon last night.

I impressed myself as it was the first time i had used a telescope.

Is there anywhere i can upload them to see what people think?

Thanks again
