Rare Naked-Eye Nova, RS Oph, a white dwarf in the constellation Ophiuchus

On Aug. 8th, the brightness of the tiny star increased 600-fold, from magnitude +12 to +5, as reported by https://www.spaceweather.com/ ,  might be worth a look weather permitting tonight.

Got it! Very easy star hop from M11 in Scutum. It showed up neatly in both the Zeiss 10x42 and the Helios 16x80s. It is not naked eye in my back garden, but close in brightness to some nearby mag 5 stars. Didn't have a comparison chart handy, so no proper estimate this time. Still, chuffed at bagging my 5th nova

Have you got a easy map to star hop to as I am hopeless that's why I got a goto mount please. 

I will try tomorrow as its hissing down here.

Had a look yesterday, and it seemed to be a bit fainter, compared to a trio of stars just north of it. Still haven't got me a comparison chart, so cannot put magnitudes on it accurately.
