Any practice files available?

Hi

I’m beginning to learn/ teach myself planetary photography by reading this forum’s threads and tutorial videos.

However, the weather and planet positions seem to be against me for a couple more months.

I was therefore wondering if there are any sites where some AVI videos may be available to download and “practice” processing on ?

I'm not an expert, but could you not practice on some lunar images? As far as I am aware the processes are pretty similar. I'm just starting to do the same as my normal targets are DSO's but I fancy trying a bit of planetary later in the year. No shortage of moon to play with!!

youtube.com has plenty.. type in    ( astronomy planet astrophotography ) into the search loads of good stuff....... or just try astrophotography it keeps me busy watching through thousands of videos daily when its clouding out.

I assume you want actual Avi files to download and not just links to YouTube videos as posted above?

If so try here. You can then download the avi's to practice processing.

Thanks all for responding, yes I would really like to download some AVI files fo use as if I had captured them from my own telescope.  I’ll have a look at the link.

Do you have this month's sky at night magazine to hand? On page 71 there is a list of raw images to download from Hubble, Juno etc..
