MrNomNom
Hey guys and girls, want to share my latest project - DIY focuser. It has custom PCB with TMC2130 motor controller. Motor itself is GM20BY with 1:250 gearbox. All in all it has 5000 steps per revolution which is more than enough for good focus on my setup (and probably many others Also I have designed custom holder to mount everything without brackets Ps. since focuser is programmable I can use whatever open source DIY focuser software I want, at this point I am using MyFocuserPro2. Dr_Ju_ju
It probably doesn't need a 'split' coupler as that will introduce backlash, I find a straight coupler works fine.
JamesF
That's a very neat little package :)Â Beyond my skills to make I think, given the surface-mounted components. James

You are probably right. But I had this coupler already so used it:) also I will be using stellarmate and in Ekos they have linear focuser mode, so backlash wont be an issue ;)

Sunshine
Some people just have a knack for making things, this is great! it looks like something one would purchase! everything i make looks like trash, then they break and end up in the bin. Robindonne
Wow if you could place a battery and module to make it wireless, im sure you have to order some more filament for all of our orders🙂
