Question on IR filter

Hi hope everyone is well , just a quick question I have a Lacerta solar wedge it said on the side a IR filter is recommended is that for imaging or visual it does not say

If required, only for visual....

The CCD/CMOS cameras are not sensitive beyond 1100nm, in the NIR.

Neil there has been some debate about this. When I observe the Sun using a front white light filter I add a UV/IR filter into the focuser. I know some will say its not necessary for visual but it gives me some extra assurance. I bought a SvBony filter which was not that expensive.

I have a filter from my asl224mc that I can use I will double up with the continuum filter on the eyepiece

Me too, I have a Baader IR/UV cut filter I always use when white light solar observing. I understand its not necessary but it means I relax and enjoy the views.
