Set up the FS128 at 17:00 to observe Mars in totally clear skies 😁😁😁

Went out at 18:15 and detail was VERY good but unsteady so came back in for a coffee whilst Mars climbed higher.

Back out at 19:30:and the view was rubbish 😢  low contrast and fuzzy, nowhere near as much detail as earlier.

Then the clouds rolled over and it rained 😠

Oh well, theres always another night.........

Similar views here in Derby this evening.

Clear tonight, but heavy dew. Seeing was a bit iffy, and i wonder how much smoke is in the air from fireworks etc

I didn't get the clouds down here, but seeing was poor (turbulent upper atmosphere, I think).
I made out some darker areas, just about.

Don't mean to rib salt in the wounds but last night was the best I've seen Mars 🤣

The seeing was nice and steady so got the 12" dob out and with a 6.7mm EP it gave me just over x220 magnification. I found that a yellow filter made a big difference for teasing out some great detail. 

Of course when I tried to push it up to x350 magnification the gods of clouds didn't like that and that was the end of that!!
