A decent Centre Punch? :D

Something of a "Cinderella" of the Toolbox?!? But I recently lost the
last of my ersatz "bodgers" that I use to mark holes (in Al sheet etc.).
The underlying problem with some of my badly-centered efforts! 🙄

I drill some pretty *good* holes NOW -  I use a STEP Drill! But any
particular recomendations for a decent (accurate) Centre Punch?  🤔
(I also struggle to find a good countersink / de-burring bit, but...)

I remember we used "auto-click" Punches in "skool metalwork"?!?
This "lockdown" got me thinking re. making life easier / better... 🥳

Thanks for that! At under a fiver I can hardly feel too bad about
"pensioning off" some of my late Dad's (Grandad's?) tools... 😉

I have some of the Dormer countersinks. Top quality stuff. Am slowly collecting some Dormer taps as well but £££££.

not a big fan of the clicky centre punches as they have a tendency to jump off the mark in my hands so much prefer the simple type like recommended ^

Have a look out for Moore & Wright (https://www.bowersgroup.co.uk/product-range/moore-wright.html/) very accurate & long lasting....
