Beginners telescope make model

like to know what i could start planet gazing with, i dont want something too basic i want it to last before i jump upwards. Telescope 100mm or above

As John mentioned a rough budget would help with recommendations. 

I started off with a NexStar 5SE (I still have it!) and I think it's superb. It's somewhat similar to the SW 127 and has a GoTo system, which I think is nice for beginners. The long focal length is good for planets.

Can be used with a handcontrol instead of WiFi but not included wth the  mount. Youwould have to buyoebuttey do show up second hand quite often.

With no budget, how about a Celestron NexStar Evolution 8 EdgeHD with StarSense?  A beginner here in Texas brought his to a star party a couple years back and he seemed really pleased with it.  The views were quite nice as well.  It was super easy to setup, align, and control from a tablet.

+1 for StarSense. I’ve got it on my 5SE and it makes aligning a breeze

Until we have some idea of budget I feel we are just "shooting in the dark" here.

All we know at present is:

- Planets are of strong interest

- 100mm or above in aperture

- Does not want to have to upgrade too quickly

Thank you for all this info budget £350 ish for used one also like it have a feature to capture photos? by pluggin into iphone or something? This possible with £350 or not?
