With the weather and I'll health I've not been out since at least November.

Tonight was looking good so started to set up at 9pm at 10.10pm I had finally aligned the scope and ready to start.

2 star alignment Arcturus and Vega checked alignment with NGC457 spot on at least that was a bonus.

First port of call

Alpha Leonis just to check alignment and because never done any Leo doubles.

(SAO 0989 67) Regulus bright white with lilac companion.

Tau and 83 Leonis (SAO 1188 64 +75)

two doubles in FOV here great sight.

7 Leonis + ΟΣΣ 102 (SAO 0986 62)

3 doubles in the same FOV

54 Leonis (SAO 0815  83) Lovely contrast here yellow primary small blue secondary.

6 Leonis (SAO 1177 51) red and white here nice object.

Finished off with M13 15mm after that anymore mag and it just washed out.

Went for M57 but I think the moon was too bright to see it.

Some drawings I was told press left key that will show me west so hopefully got them right. 20200405_003805.thumb.jpg.b4771da9291a097841a1fb049df95ed7.jpg

Glad you got out and observed, it is quite a pick me up,
but reading the post directly above this, sadly perhaps not.

Yes I was over the moon last night even though I have reduced my normal list to 6/7 objects rather than 20 or so I used to do.

I thought sketching would slow me down and let me sit with each object it did but after 4hrs in bed woke in severe pain I am just trying to keep moving and working around my back.

Orientation of drawings spot on for a frac with a diagonal.just switch off tracking , field of view heads west. Or press left RA button on Synscan handset. Mark west.

Count your mirrors, frac with one mirror is uneven number of mirrors, north is 90 degrees clockwise from marked west .

Newts have two mirrors ( even number) , north is 90degrees anti-clockwise from marked west.

Useful when comparing with other's drawings or checking PA in a complex view,

keep safe , old Nick.
