Its better in my opinion, have used PS CS6 and Affinity and its hard to tell the difference apart from that the latter has more built in features.

I am touching up some scanned slides (1960 to 1980) and find the default presets easy and good - colour & whitebalance etc.  The 'inpainting' brush has amazed me.  The current offer looks like good value to me. Some PS plugins work with it as well.
