Deep sky object Drawings

Hey! I know this isn’t exactly sketching but anyway, I got a little bored and decided to draw some space objects.

Dont expect anything good, as I have never been good at drawing or at shading, I just did it for fun!

so here they are:

 

First comes a wide FOV view of m31.I didnt sketch it by looking at an image, I was just bored at school

 

Next is the owl. 

Not the best, but still a fun one to draw

 

 

The next drawing was of a globular cluster. Not sure which 😂just wanted to draw one.

Up next is m51. Like andromeda, I was bored at school and just drew this to pass the time. I didnt look at an image so the spiral arms may not be in the correct way or shape.

Here is m42, the Orion Nebula, it was quite difficult to get the shading right(which I didn’t  ) because the nebula is so complex

overall very fun to drawAnd last but not least, the Bug nebula, this one was my favourite!

Once you start drawing, that is the beginning of a new adventure. I have a mate who started doing basic astro drawings and now does watercolours and acrylic art of everyday life , they are superb.

Aye, I think this is true. I started simple sketches, branched out into using soft chalks for H-alpha observations and from there really got into painting tiny scale models and miniatures. Never know where or when one thing leads to another
