I dunno what to say really.

That sub is better (by a long way) than my stacked end result.

Pants...

I'm using a 300D with an ED80.

I doubt that I could get away with an 8 minute sub - but I'll give it a go tonight. The image was quite bright even at 5 minutes.

You've also used a Focal Reducer - which would have speeded the whole process up...

Would the FR have made a huge difference?

Yeah I am using a 0.8 focal reducer which I think will mean my exposure time is reduced/increased? by 20% therfor this is effectivly a 9mins 30secs exposure compared with a non reduced one :scratch:

Can you post up one of your subs and also the stacked version? What are the details of your image, how many subs etc

One other thing, the LP filter I have is a bit erm....better than yours. I mean I think the skywatcher and Neo do not fully block all frequencies of light pollution like the expensive ones. This may have an impact on how long your subs can go.
