Io + GRS transit 11.45pm 20/06/19

If your lucky enough for clear skies tonight there's a nice shadow transit from around 11.45pm onwards. Io is almost in line between us and Jupiter as the shadow follows closely. Transits same time as the GRS.

Some clear skies here but not in the right place so Jupiter is hiding currently

Following this at the moment. The seeing isn’t great but the GRS is nice and clear. I can just about make out the shadow sitting within one of the main equatorial belts.

Both the GRS and and shadow are roughly centred now. The shadow sitting almost in line vertically with the GRS in the belt below it. That’s as seen in my dob. Lovely mild night too. Very relaxed right now

😁First view of Jupiter through the big Dob! Not the best view ever due to poor elevation, but steady air gave me a nice view of GRS and the shadow transiting.

Surprisingly mild here too.

Nice reports folks !

I can see Jupiter occasionally through gaps in the clouds on the S horizon but I bought my scope in some time back when a big lump of cloud spread over most of my views.

I'm hoping for better luck next time !

Stayed up to watch Io emerge. Had some really nice views when hitting steadier pockets of seeing. Best Jupiter session of the year so far. Big thank you to @david_taurus83 for the heads up

I actually missed this myself as was in bed at 10.30 for a 5am start 🙄

I checked out Jupiter that evening anc watched Io getting very close but the transit was past my bedtime!
