The 76 Is usable and cheap but you would soon find yourself wanting one of the bigger ones. What isyour budget?

The Heritage 130 is very, very popular.

I started off with one of these (I still have it), I managed to see the ring around saturn but it was very small. It was given to me as it was sat unused but overall it got me into astronomy and gave me just enough to get the bug. If you have young children or do observing evenings its great as you can just let them go ahead and use it without fear of any damaged.
