M81 and M82

Another image of these lovely galaxies, this time from Berkshire.  Taken between 15th Jan and 4 Feb, 6 hours of Lum and 2.5 hrs each of RGB, Esprit 150, SX-46 and Mesu200, processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop.

Lovely.  How long were your subs?

I feel the pull of a Mesu that I'm trying hard to resist.

Very nice image Dave - smooth background and colour balance and you have the pale blue tips showing in M82 as well as some jets and core details.  Well done with all of these details as I have not found the UK skies of late to have great seeing.

Capturing Ha brings further detail to both galaxies, particularly M82, if you manage to get the time and weather.

Thanks, I used a mixture of 5 and 10 minutes for LRGB as I'm experimenting with the camera at the moment.

Thank you Barry, I also captured a couple of hours of Ha but that didn't add anything other than noise so I gave up.  I guess a lot more time needed on that channel from where I am.  Maybe one day

Nice work.  The luminence details look great, especially the outer regions of M81.  Purely personal but the colour seems a bit uniform yellow

Very nice result, plenty of detail on close up and nicely balanced colours.

And Imaged in the UK, so has added frustration factor?
