A tiny chalk-/charcoal sketch of Gassendi

Dear all,

tonight, I sketched lunar crater Gassendi for the 3rd time. This one is done on a small sheet of black sketching cardbox (just 8x12cm):

Telescope: Martini 10" f/5 truss-tube Dobsonian
Eyepiece: Explore Scientific 6.7mm/82°
Date & Time: February 15th, 2019 / 1900-1930 CET
Location: home terrace, Dusseldorf region, Germany
Technique: chalk and charcoal pens on black sketching cardbox
size: appr. 8cm x 12cm

That’s very nice. Spent ages observing this last night. You’ve captured it very well. My photo for comparison (unedited phone up to the eyepiece job). Think I prefer your sketch

Amazing sketch.  Looks so real you could reach out and touch it..

I've had a go at Lunar sketching but they never come out anywhere near as good as this...

Hi Achim!

Nice sketch. That's so weird too. I was just admiring your sketch after having spent ages with a moon map trying to identify where I had drawn, and I think I've done the same spot as you. Mine's through a dobsonian reflector so it's upside down. Your sketch is more accurate than mine. Mine's more rushed and sadly cartoonish. I'm not getting on with the white on black for accuracy. 

Thanks for posting. I like your sketch and thanks to you I now know the name of the crater.
