would a zwo filter wheel fit an atik camera ( 460 or 490) or are they only for zwo cameras

cheers

Paul

Yes it will physically fit as it comes with a T2 - T2 adaptor for the camera side.  You would need to check your spacings as the 460 has 13.5mm back focus and the ASI1600 only 6.5mm.  It should be fine unless using it with a field flattener and OAG.

Hi guys sorry to be a pain but where would you plug the  ZWO filter wheel then? on the zwo it goes straight into the back of the camera but on the atik theres only a power socket and the other socket isnt the same one as the zwo filter wheel

The camera needs a 12VDC power supply AND a USB2 connection to your computer or USB hub.  The filter wheel needs its own USB2 connection to the computer or hub but doesn't need a separate power supply (it takes its power from the USB cable).  The ZWO camera has a built in USB hub, so you still need a USB connection from your computer, but you can plug the filter wheel in to the camera, which you can't with the Atik.

Ah thx both and thx, yeah I  knew about the power supply just wernt sure on the filter wheel as it was connected to the zwo camera and on the atik it hasnt got a usb port, so probably  a usb extension lead? as the one from the filter wheel is only about 10 inches long

That's it mate, you will need two separate USB leads, one for the camera and one for the filter wheel :thumbright:
