600D Lenses

Recommended Posts

I have a modded 600D that I use with my scopes but I'm looking for some lenses to use with the camera either for time lapses and with my Star Adventurer. I have used a Samyang 14mm f2.8 with it but no longer have it.

What lenses do you use with this camera and what do you shoot with the lens ?

Hi,

Here's a few links-

I would vouch for geordie85's recommendation of the Samyang 135mm f.2.0 lens and which unlike other fast lenses can be used at f/2.0. I have used the Samyang to take 6 x 10 degree shots of nebulae and build up mosaics too. I have used chiefly my modded Canon 700D with an Astronomik 12nm Ha filter which have worked well on the Star Adventurer (SA) mount and the Ha filter has certainly helped combating the light pollution here.

An example of what the SA mount, DSLR, Ha filter and 135mm lens can do, a two pane mosaic from August this year using 300 second light frames, temperature matched dark frames and library flat and bias frames-

Good luck.

Hi. I've a 700d, so similar. I've old Takumar 135mm and 200mm lenses.  eBay has them regularly. They are sharp, affordable and take good wide field snaps. They need a m42 to canon adaptor which is also readily available.

use any lens just get the f ratio sweet spot unless the F-stop is all your interested in, but the 50mm F1.8 is great at F7 for pin point stars.

they each have there good and bad points but if you have lens's try them first.
