Hi please can someone help me . I bought a 10” celestron last year and never used it but now I’m ready .i got it all lined up to the moon and couldn’t focus does the scope need the power supply or is the power only the make the stand move . Most probably a real stupid question but there you go .

The power is as you suspected, just to drive the mount. Do you know the name of your 'scope? Then we can point you in the right direction... excuse the pun!

I use car jump start pack

Have run my EQ5 for 3 or 4 days, without any issues

Most come with 12volt outlet, as well as USB outlets

Thanks guys yes I have all the power leads and sky scanner . I’m bang on the moon twisting the focus leaver each way but it just want focus

Maybe try on a bright star, the Moon is a bit over bright ATM, it's easier to see an out of focus  star as it should be a nice doughnut shape.
