FH Brundle V-groove track

From their website it looks as though they do two different versions:

http://www.fhbrundle.co.uk/products/0587604000__3_metre_Track_for_V_Grooved_Wheels_in_galvanised_steel

http://www.fhbrundle.co.uk/products/05GD293__3_Metre_V_Groove_Bolt_Down_Track_For_All_V_Groove_Wheels

It doesn't say on the side what the overall width of the track is in either case and a phone call ascertains that they're not able to tell me immediately either.  Can anyone who has one or the other enlighten me?

Hi James.

I bought the 058760400 track. Haven't fixed it in position yet. Dimensions I've just measured are -

Width - nominal 58mm

Holes are nominal 10 x 6mm, spaced 290mm apart.

Height of the top of the track from the wooden rail is ~16mm

Steel thickness is ~3mm

Hope this helps

Kev

PS forgive the crappy end-view image!

Sorry for hikacking your thread but had a look around that website and found these:

http://www.fhbrundle.co.uk/products/41MPS300__Hanger_For_Sliding_Door_MPS300_500H_4_Wheel_Medium_Duty_Hanger

http://www.fhbrundle.co.uk/products/41K3003__Medium_Duty_Top_Track_3_Metres_K300

As I understand they are meant for hanging sliding doors but do anyone know if they work ”the other way around”? My thoughts were to install the track on top of the wall and wheels on the rolling roof. That would lock the parts together, making it so much harder for the wind to lift the roof off.

With a more complex roof design you could probably even use them the right way up :)

Used upside down I'd be concerned about what might collect inside -- say you had a beautifully clear winter night only to find that water or snow had collected in the channel and frozen, for instance, leaving you unable to open the roof.

I used the FHBrundle round section track and wheels - 4 wheels 120mm diameter.  My wooden plus EPDM roof which took 3 strong men to lift, runs easily when pushed with one finger.  I tested it Friday and it's still running well ?
