EQMOD and AZEQ6GT

Hi,

just starting with EQMod to control the mount.  Loaded up Ascom etc, and connected to the mount via EQDIRUSB cable.  It connects and slews, although haven't checked anything like accuracy etc.  one thing is the mount shows as HEQ5/6 not AZEQ6.  is this normal?  surprised as EQMOD states compatible with the mount, but could it affect positioning and tracking, or have i just done something wrong..?

Yep that's fine, it's all the same protocol.  Enjoy EQMOD, it's very good.

Yes, same here, shows up as HEQ5/6, still works though!

Here too it shows the same.  It works great. Add guiding with PHD2 and you have a great platform.

In the EQMod  Ascom Setup screen, bottom right hand corner, you can set a 'Friendly' name
