Kingdel mini pc

Recommended Posts

Specs below..  Review from someone not proficient in this area, goal to operate mount / image remotely, eliminate usb extension cords, gain capture speed, multitask while imaging, easy set up out of box.  I'm outdoors all the time but sometimes its nice not staying outside checking status of gear.  Be inside, mosquito/frostbite free @ room temp.

Price $600 (there are many configurations of this model lower and higher in price). This one is in middle, high compared to most mini's here but after reading through reviews some lower cost units need skills to operate or solve problems out of the box.

Start up was easy, needed keyboard and connect to tv at first for updates and get ball rolling.  Then turned on remote desktop connect, run it from laptop here on out.  Loaded everything on it, programs, drivers.  No issues at all in that area.

Unit isn't as small as id like but very light weight, very fast and all ports needed (4 x usb3, 1 x usb2, lan, SD).  Comes with Win 10 pro, simple remote desktop connect with laptop/pc (if also win 10 pro).  Antenna do great job picking up wifi signal from yard through 3 walls, almost no lag time from laptop to pc.  Was impressed with capture speed of SSD, image below of solar session 12 bit ser @ 170 fps asi174mm.  Much faster than laptop HDD without dropped frames.  Will come in handy for planetary/lunar.  Quiet no fan, first go it was baking in sun so got quite hot but no operational issues.  Time will tell if it holds up to elements, will prob stick it in plastic Tupperware container with holes cut in sides.  Satisfied with purchase.
