M51 - Whirlpool Galaxy

This one is a classic, it passes in almost every session or I use it to evaluate new skies or a new scope. 

I haven't sketched it yet, so I needed to change that

Ohhh wow they just get better the subtle shades you get on the spiral really adds to it almost making it 3D like.

This is on my to observe list but not sure I will be able to see it what quality was your skies when sketching this object?

Thank you; skies were not that awesome, I had high clouds slowly passing over, but enough clear moments to sketch. I did spend more time on this than I'd usually do while sketching, looks like patience does pay off

The galaxy is well drawn, it's beautiful. I usually can't see visually the 1/4 of what you've illustrated on my best sky.  I hope for some better conditions eventually.
