From north America to the veil

Hi Every one,

I was fortunate enough to grab HA  this 3 nights ago

it was taken with a Atik 383l with a 50mm canon lens

23 -3 minute shots unguided on a azeq6 mount 

its not as flat as I would have liked due to spacing problems

which shows in the corners

baader 7nm ha filter was used

Very nice - lots of faint hydrogen picked out there! Think the sharpness in the corners would resolve with a slightly smaller aperture - what did you use for this?

Also can i say a big thank you for posting this.  I was wondering how you did this with a 50mm camera lens and a CCD camera! 

I have a Geoptic adapter to connect my ATIK 4120 to my Canon lenses. I never realised I could fit 1.25 threaded filters inside    Feeling a bit daft but very happy.  I can now go after some great tagets and not have to spend any more money !!

Thanks every one, for your kind words,

for this shot I used a sigma 50-150mm f2.8 zoom

knowing that it is a pain to get lens's to pair up with a atik 383l

 I decided to take matters into my own hands and cobble up together

two mods, one is for a canon ef 60mm macro lens which works

great as I only need to unscrew the filter from the front

put another one on, all done in 20 seconds.

that's great but if you want to be able to stick bigger lenses on

I had to come up with something else,

so I purchased a canon click lock lens adapter and  parted off a piece

of m48 female thread of an old adapter on my lathe and fitted it to the inside of

the canon click lock adapter with epoxy resin, all I done wrong was taking the

measurement for the spacing's when I was trying to get as close to canon's 44mm

back focus, I was 1.5 mm under

I do have a geopitik adapter  but found changing the filters a bit fiddly.
