CDC does not do Platesolving ASPS/APT does that. Once you have Ascom/EQMOD installed you can load CDC (or Stellarium /Stellarium Scope) and (under CDC) choose the Telescope settings and choose ASCOM. Then Choose Telescope and Connection settings here you press Select and choose EQMOD HEQ5/6 from the Ascom Chooser drop down. After which you will have to click the "Properties" button which will give you a screen to choose the COM port (EQDIR has created) AND dont forget the Long/Lat and JNOW settings - the latter have to be the same in APT and CDC.  Then assuming EQMOD connects to your scope (you may need to UNPARK - but should be first time) you press CONNECT button on the CDC Connection window which should go Green (also press tracking if you want - also go green). Then in APT under gear(?) press the Connect Scope (May need SHIFT AND THEN CLICK as else it tries the last setting APT used) It should connect but if you have to press SHIFT/CLICK on connect you will be presented with the ASCOM chooser window - if so just press OK. Male sure that all works before you move onto Platesolving --NOTE make sure you close down by closing APT then CDC using the Connect Settings (DISCONNECT) after telling EQMOD to PARK your scope - latter not mandatory - hopefully not missed anything out.
