Cheers Ed, I was trying some LX stuff with the Atik earlier on and just left it in for this, otherwise I would have probably used the SPC900NC - I'm glad I did now :(

I'm really pleased with the Atik, not that I've had much chance of using it :) 'twas a bargain me thinks.

great shot mate, is it always taht colour? i always pictured neptne like that and uranus more greeny lol.

anyway, was it easy to find before imaging and was it recognisable as a planet? i'm planning on hunting it and neptune down over the next month or so.

I think it would have been quite hard to find, but I cheated and used goto. At 90x it looked slightly bigger than a star with a definite disk shape and a slight blue tinge, at 200x it was definitely a disk but I couldn't see any colour.

Definitely worth hunting down though, go for it.
