Unidentified galaxy near M51

There are two extended galaxies just next to M51's smaller companion NGC5195, Rodd's recent image shows both of them, one of them is just visible in my M51.

I've circled it in yellow AND done an extra stretch to exaggerate it.

Amazing!  And I've zoomed in to find them in my image too.

I find it fascinating to think that the light has been travelling since the time when the very first dinosaurs walked the earth!

I know what you mean.  I get a kick out of it when I send someone an image with an explanation and they come back and tell me that the narrative has just fried their mind :icon_biggrin:

I was asking the same question about IC4277 on another thread, thanks for the Identification.

i don't now if the up keep of these catalogues is done automatically or manually, but if it's the latter, they must have had kittens when the HST deepfield images started rolling in.?
