Sketch - Venus Neptune conjunction 13/1/2017

A day late for me unfortunately as weather scuppered my attempt last night when they were half a degree apart. Still nice to see them within a 1.3 degree field at low power. Used a prism so had to reverse the image. With 102mm f7 ED and 18mm BCO at 38x and 1.3 degree field. Hope others got a chance.

Me too. Clouded out yesterday, but managed to snag them today. Neptune was easy to see (if still star like anyway), and its greenish hue made it unmistakable. Nice sketch!

They looked very nice tonight until the clouds intervened, Venus makes an unmistakable signpost to Neptune at the moment.
