I use a laptop for guiding at my outside pier. I generally just throw an old fleece coat or jumper over the thing- mainly to block all the extaraneous light coming off that might reach the scope and/or kill my night vision. The laptop generates a fair amout of its own warmth. This, with a fleece over it keeps it cosy & dry.
