I started off with the bin over the mount and it was great, then I aquired some insulated sheeting from work so the plan for a movable obsy was born, or as the wife likes to call it  "the outside wardrobe"

Good of her not to refer to it as The Outhouse....

I'm afraid that if I built an Observatory, I might be moved into it.

I use a large fishing umbrella which seems to work fine.

I use a laptop for guiding at my outside pier. I generally just throw an old fleece coat or jumper over the thing- mainly to block all the extaraneous light coming off that might reach the scope and/or kill my night vision. The laptop generates a fair amout of its own warmth. This, with a fleece over it keeps it cosy & dry.
