Eyepiece and filter storage

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a couple of new eyepieces and I have been searching for some type of container

to store them in similar to bolt boxes -  that don't seem to be around or I am not looking in the right places.

Could also do with giving my filters a new place to be stored. I would like to know how others store theirs.

loads of ideas, but it generally comes to a Maplin's flight case.

enjoy the thread and try not to get too jealous of the eye pieces they contain :)

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll follow the thread now.

Hi Abberation,

I use these "really useful boxes"

http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/b24_5litre.php

Then I ordered foam (cut to exact size) from here

http://www.thefoamshop.co.uk/page/151/FOAM-GRADES-EXPLAINED

I have a 1cm layer covering the whole box at the bottom

I use a 2cm layer as a removable lid (top layer)

I use a 3 cm layer for the middle (sandwich) which I cut to shape using a sharp knife. You probably need to order a couple of middle layers (to allow for mis-cuts!)

These boxes & foam have served me well over the years and are easily stacked on a chair (in the dining room) - Oops!

Alan
