Hope so Michael that's a bigger section of society than astronomers , hopefully it works in our favour if enough people pick it up.

I put quite a few links on the light pollution petition thread. Unfortunately some of the earlier ones are no longer valid but the one put up in the last few days are OK and worth a look.

I've been doing work on heat islands. The answer is relatively simple in concept, if not in execution - more green infrastructure. A second way to help is recolouring black asphalt roofs white, although green roofs are more effective.
