More astro purchases today. Couple of filters so my collection is nearly complete

OIII and H Beta in 1.25"

What do you use the H Beta for Damian? I have one for imaging but not sure about for visual.

Naaaae!   bother then. I am surprised at an H beta filter, would have thought a UHC  that incorporates OIII would have been a bit better. Any particular reason?

It was cheap compared to normal that's why 

The UHC will come along shortly when I find one at a palatable price £200+ is hard to swallow

Oh of course you are 2" aren't you! I could have loaned you a H Beta but only 1.25" CCD

Have a look at Astronomik a UHC-E  (ASTRONOMIK UHC; 2" (M48)) is 125 Euro on their site  and the better one 199 Euro in 2"

I have 1.25" for most of the eyepieces. Lumicon seem to be the filter of choice visually as far as I can gather.

I shall see how the two go that I'm waiting for before making the commitment on the UHC

I will be selling the 1.25 H beta  some time in the future as I now have the Astrodons. But if you want to try it out let me know. I'm not using it at present.

The weather forecast keeps changing. It now showing clear all night for Sutton Bank on Sunday and maybe winscar Wednesday Night late on. Weather forecasts are never reliable

As the forecast stands I will be heading for Sutton Bank tonight as Winscar is clouded out.

Not according to clear outside

Just checked the forecast by the BBC and has clear tonight at either.

Will check later but winscar is definitely clouded tomorrow by the BBC.

If things don't change I will go with the original plan and head for winscar tonight and then the mercury transit at Overton then sutton bank at night

I keep checking the weather forecasts and they're all different.

Concensus is that Winscar is looking the best so I'm going to make it up for around 8-8:30 so I can set up.
