Refractor

If I decided against a 'dobby' and went for a large refractor instead which of these would be the best all rounder?

What recommendations for mounts would be suitable for the 2 skywatcher OTA's - I was thinking HEQ5 Pro?

Also the first two a Heq5 pro would be minimum I had the 150 Evostar and it was fine on the Heq5 pro viewing wise but if you want to do AP you would need the NEQ6 which I later upgraded to and was much better

For visual, I would AlzAz it rather than EQ. AzEQ5 would work, or a heavy duty Giro/Skytee. That AltairAstro scope looks ace (not just the Red ), and I want one.

I've owned a few 6" F/8's. They are much better all round scopes than the F/5's IMHO. They do need a sturdy and tall mount though - HEQ5 for visual really. A Skytee II might be OK on a solid 2" steel tubed tripod.

I'd rather have an 8" F/6 dob as an all round scope than the 6" F/8 achro's though, in all honesty.
