Just joined- First pic posted Aurora from the Isle of Skye

Hi Guys

Joined your group today, looking forward to being a part of the community, have been interested and involved in Astronomy for over 30 years, but took time out 4 years ago to spend time with the family, continued with normal photography, but recently have been pointing the camera back up to the skies....not going to jump straight in and get a scope, it's not where I want to be again, been there done that.....spent fortunes....only to be met by constant clouds etc.... Having said all of that, my DSLR collection and lenses have grown, and I'm not scared of putting the camera into manual and manual focus....and just going for it....this shot is one I caught in the Isle of Skye, A wonderful place for both daytime and night photography, a place where I will be returning very soon, hopefully once I have made up my mind, I may purchase the Skywatcher Adventurer....it looks ideal for what I am after right now.

Nice aurora image, quite a lot can be done with just a dslr and a few lenses.
