M42 new years eve

Really nice couple of hours in the garden imaging Orion, first time I've been any where near pleased with the results. Approx 30 minutes of 60 seconds and 15 seconds at 400 ISO. Had a really naff attempt at combining the core with the main image [emoji1] definitely need to learn more about processing !

Cheers all, it really is amazing seeing how much work goes into the images on here, I always thought it was just a case of aiming the camera well and taking a few long exposures ... My hat goes off to the great images on here , one day I might get close [emoji3]

Have you had a look at your channels in the histogram? If you line up the RGB peaks you might find the purple tinge goes.
