CATALINA 12-31-15

Spent the morning from 3:30 till almost 7 a.m. and managed to image 12 keepers after it cleared some trees. Not as large a comet in my 560mm SV80ED as Lovejoy from the beginning of the year but still a thrill to capture.The moon washed it out some. I wish they would come around like this more often. Like this comet the year really flew by. Gonna give it a go again in the morning. I really needed more frames but a pesky tree is blocking the view for half and hour. I should also have added some bias frames to this but was in a hurry so it is what it is. Let me know what you think and Best of New Years to everyone!

12-300 second lights @ ISO 800 15 darks. One set stacked on just the comet head and one set on the stars using sigma kappa method. The 2 tiffs where then blended in

 and tweeked in LR.
