Polar alignment - what am I doing wrong?

It ceases to amaze me that all the fancy gadgets that have been invented to do various things with telescopes, software etc, that the most inconvenient thing of all has never been considered by the manufacturers, and that is a right angled view of the polarscope.  There must be many people with back, neck or knee problems who find this difficult.

I myself find it impossible to see through the polarscope with glasses as they seem to get tilted at that angle and then I can't see through them, so always have to wear contact lenses.

I agree there are lots of diy fixes using a RA camera viewfinder or very expensive after market versions but no manufacturer options which is odd with mounts like the skywatcher SA which can potentialy be alighned within a minute.
