hoping for clear skies I know it wont be dark dark but its the first time I will be portable so hoping to take in a lot more, no idea what to point the telescope/camera at yet though any suggestions?

Try Jupiter and Venus before it is dark - around 10 pm - then Saturn and hour or so later.

TBH I have never tried the planets as I am using a DSLR not a webcam but may well try a video of it just to play around with

I've not seen stars for any decent length of time since April. Twighlight should be good enough to see planets, doesn't get properly dark until after midnight round here. I tried a DSLR for planets on my mak, wasnt anywhere near as successful as a webcam but you might fare better.

Make sure you're all charged up!

Bit of a stupid question but obviously being in a new location I would need to put the new co ordinates in CDC would I have to put them in settings first and set it up as a new observatory type thing?

Going to try the pinwheel galaxy tonight. Finally got autoguiding sorted the other night so hopefully get 5+ minute subs.

Hit a brickwall already, always used the synscan handset but tryin CDC tonight only just occured to me, How do I do a star alignment with no handset lol
