Both are great shots, you need to do a tutorial on imaging the moon with a DSLR!

I think though that the webcam wins...just

Is the DSLR image from a single frame? You need to know that to judge a fair comparison.

Right then let's see......

The DSLR pic IS from a single image. However, to get that one useful pic I took around 60 exposures by the look of it, altering shutter speed and ISO, and taking a couple of frames for each setting.

What I cant remember is whether or not the pic was also taken through an eyepiece. I dont think so because there is no filter used, which I would have.

I really should start to keep a notepad of the images taken and what settings etc. I now have around 300GB of avi and CR2 data clogging up my hdd's.

I can tell you the large crater is Copernicus.

Both look good on my screen. As Ron says the larger crater is Copernicus which happens to be my favourite crater.
