Nikon d7200 to hook up to a Celestron 127slt

Hi guys!

Quick question for you astrophotographers...what bits do I need to attach my Nikon to the scope? I believe it's two. Bits and ones called a T bar? But apart from that I can't find anything clear on the net!

Hi Martial,

The easiest way to connect your camera to your scope is to use one of these: T Mount and one of these: T ring

The T ring screws into your camera body and then the T mount screws into the T ring. You fit the camera to the scope instead of your eyepiece.

Remove the mirror diagonal too. The less glass you have in the optical train the better.

cheaper is OK but not if the parts then don't join cleanly and without wobble

You may actually only need the t-ring. Remove the diagonal from the short adapter tube that connects it to the rear of the telescope. The adaptor tube might have a t thread (M42 x 0.75), if so the t ring will attach to this.
