Light Pollution Filter

I am planning on purchasing light pollution filters from Orion (Only place i found them) anyone have experience with these?

I live in outer london and bought the IDAS LP filter a few months back. Its regarded by a few as one of the best on the market.. 

It made a great difference to my images taken at home, but it doesn't work miracles. Judging from the quality between my original £20 filter

and my IDAS £150 filter, Id say if you aren't prepared to spend the money on a really good filter then it might not be worth the money. 

As you will hear time and time again here, there isn't a substitute for a truly rural dark sky!

I have one of the Skywatcher LP filters, they don't really do anything so not worth the hassle of screwing it on in the dark ... IMHO

I use a 2" Skywatcher LP filter on my DSLR.  It is not too expensive and gets the job done.  I use a step down ring to fit mine on the objective.

I believe for imaging these can help. Visually, as already mentioned a tank of gas is a better investment.

I second estwing's dark site idea.

My 300 galaxies would be extremely difficult with C8 in my backyard, but some 20 travels to the dakk site made it relatively easy work.

Acey's thread here gives a good description, and I can warmly recommand you to make a trip to see the difference with your own eyes.
