Sun in HA and white light 18/04/15

It was nice to get some good weather at the weekend for a change! Especially with so much action on the suns surface. Interesting to see both Active regions in different wavelengths.

The HA images were taken with the usual PST/DMK21au618. 2,500 frames stacked in Autostakkert, processed in CS2

The white light images were taken with my ED80/DMK21au618, with a Televue x2.5 Powermate and an extension tube. The extension tube is essential for focus, in fact with the Powermate it still had to be slightly withdrawn from the focuser to achieve focus. Also a 0iii filter was used which help control the exposure a lot!

Nice work, Pete!

It's also a surprise to have clear weather when there are some interesting spots about! That is usually a guaranteed cloud magnet   I loved the view in white light today, gorgeous with all those spots and their patterns!
