Good or Bad deal?

Been watching this on ebay for the last week, but i'm sure the seller is lying. He is describing it has a GP DX with skysensor. It looks more like the older Super polaris mount to me and that skysensor is ancient and apparently quite awful.

Yep, it looks like a standard SP mount to me and the original Vixen Skysensor which, as you say, was pretty awkward to use at the best of times. It probably dates from the late 1980's which is when I owned my Vixen SP102M on this mount.

The mount and motors are very good, but the Skysensor is not and it's not a GPDX.

Also used to be able to notify eBay of inaccurate listings - but that facility seems to have quietly disappeared in a re-vamp.

You can still do that - but I have to admit that I found it quite hard to do.

You can still ask the seller a question.

In addition it could be a bargain as you could by it and then sue for the cost of a mount as described.

Risky stratergy as you may just get your money back but hey!

I've sent the seller a question pointing out his listing is incorrect. It's definitely an SP/DX with early Skysensor. So lets see if he changes it.

I also sent him a question asking wether he is sure that it's a GP DX.

I'm not qualified to tell the difference but check the sellers feed back - quote "No response to email for 6 days then very abusive, threatening - item ok in the end" doesnt inspire confidence in dealing with this Ebayer.

One other thing, where the hell is this Ebayer getting all this gear from ? seems to deal alot in Astronomy equipment.
